Orpheus Island can be located off the North Queensland Coast, approximately 80 kilometres north of Townsville and 190 kilometres south of Cairns. More locally, Orpheus Island can be found just 20 kilometres east of Ingham, a town in close proximity to Mission Beach. Nestled amongst the natural beauty of the Great Barrier Reef, Orpheus Island averages only one kilometre in width and eleven kilometres in length. It also features approximately 1,300 hectares of National Park growing on volcanic rock formed roughly 280 million years ago.
